TEMU

Temu environment check

Checks whether your network suits shopping on or selling through Temu: for buyers, whether the IP's country is the delivery market; for sellers, whether the sign-in environment matches the onboarded entity; plus exit type, proxy flags, time zone and leaks.

Check your Temu environment

We check what Temu can see of your environment: whether the exit IP is residential or datacenter, whether it carries proxy flags or blocklist records, whether its country matches your account, whether your real IP leaks through WebRTC or IPv6, and whether your system time zone and language contradict the exit. Takes about 5–10 seconds.

Account country
Sellers pick where the onboarded entity is: fully and semi-managed sellers are mostly mainland China entities, and signing in to Seller Center from China is normal. Local stores and buyers pick the storefront's country.
No sign-in and no access to your platform account. IP intelligence and leak probes need network requests; browser settings are read locally

Temu environment requirements at a glance

Temu is one of the most region-bound marketplaces: for buyers, the IP decides storefront, currency, available items and shipping, so the wrong country means another market; for sellers (fully and semi-managed sellers are mostly China-registered), what matters is whether the sign-in environment matches the onboarded entity. From outside we can check exit type, proxy flags, whether the IP's country matches the account country, time zone and leaks; payment methods, addresses and order history live inside the platform.

  • Temu doesn't serve mainland China shoppers, but fully and semi-managed sellers sign in to Seller Center from China precisely, so this page sets no regional block for mainland China.
  • Scoring weights on this page: Account country match 34, IP type 24, Anonymity flags 16, Timezone vs IP 14, Leak check 12.
  • On marketplaces, risk controls concentrate on checkout, payment and coupon redemption; browsing usually shows nothing unusual.
  • Prices and currency changing after you switch IP is normal regional pricing, not a risk signal.
  • The European storefronts belong to the EU single market, so an account country and exit both inside the EU earn half marks.
  • Payment methods, addresses, order history and refund records live inside the platform and can't be checked here.

How the score works

The score only covers what Temu can observe from outside on this visit, out of 100, weighted as below; unmeasured items are left out of the total, and below 85% coverage the verdict is never a pass.

DimensionWhat we checkWhy it mattersWeight
Account country matchWhether the exit IP's country matches the account country / target market you selectedSigning in for long periods from a country other than the account's is a common trigger for verification and review34
IP typeWhether the exit is residential / mobile, datacenter, or an organization network such as business or educationDatacenter ranges are shared by many accounts, and real users rarely come from datacenters24
Anonymity flagsWhether the exit is flagged as a VPN, proxy, residential proxy or TorTemu can look up publicly flagged addresses directly in commercial databases16
Timezone vs IPWhether the system time zone conflicts with the exit IP's time zoneTime zone is a location clue page scripts can read without permission14
Leak checkWhether WebRTC reveals another public address and whether IPv4 / IPv6 exits are in different countriesA second exposed address shows the real location behind the proxy12

The weights summarize public industry experience; they are not platform documentation, and no platform publishes its risk rules. When the account country and exit differ but are both in the EU, or one is mainland China and the other Hong Kong, they earn half marks.

How Temu decides which region you are in

Temu is among the most region-bound e-commerce platforms: the same URL shows different prices, currencies, catalogues and shipping in different countries. Knowing what it uses to decide tells you how to set the environment up. What follows is industry observation; Temu does not publish risk-control details.

Region is decided by IP first, account settings second

Signed out, the platform works mainly from the IP's location to pick your storefront. Signed in, the country and shipping address on the account join in — and when the two disagree, that usually triggers a check or a prompt to switch region.

So changing the IP without changing the account settings, or the reverse, leaves you in a contradictory state. Change both together.

Datacenter IPs behave differently here than on social platforms

On platforms like TikTok, a datacenter IP usually means content does not get distributed. In e-commerce it shows up as extra verification at checkout, payment or promotion redemption — what the platform is defending against is bulk ordering and coupon abuse.

So the question here is not whether you can browse but whether you can complete a transaction. Browsing often looks completely normal; the problem appears at checkout.

A price difference is not a risk-control problem

Prices changing after you switch IP is usually ordinary regional pricing, not a sign that something is wrong with your account. Pricing, promotions and shipping genuinely differ between markets.

This page checks whether the environment is internally consistent and whether it will trigger risk controls. It does not evaluate pricing strategy — a price change alone is not evidence of an environment problem.

What this check cannot see

Whether an order goes through also depends on payment method, shipping address, order history and refund record. All of that is inside the platform.

So the verdict here is that the network environment is consistent with your target region, not that a given order will succeed.

What this checks, and what it cannot

Every signal above is actually measured

Scored signals use data obtained during this run: the IP profile, comparison of IP and browser time zones, a WebRTC probe, and whether your IPv4 and IPv6 exits are in different countries. Failed requests, missing information and blocked probes are marked unmeasured rather than treated as confirmed types or full marks, and the account-country item is excluded when no country is selected.

One thing we do NOT measure, and will not pretend to

The question that matters most when running multiple accounts — does this environment resemble my other one — cannot be answered from outside. That takes comparing against a population, or against your other environment. A single browser session can only count how many fingerprint signals it collected, and that number comes out much the same for everyone. Rather than display a near-constant in the nineties dressed up as a measurement, we say plainly that it is out of reach.

The overall disclaimer

This page checks your current network and browser environment. It does not touch, and cannot see, the state of your platform account. A clean environment is not the same as a safe account — linkage decisions also rest on history, cookies, payment methods and shipping addresses, none of which are observable from outside. Treat the result as a risk indication, not a substitute for signing in and testing on the platform itself.

Temu environment check FAQ

Prices changed after I switched IP — was I flagged?

Most likely not. Temu prices by region, and prices, promotions and shipping genuinely differ between markets. A price change is the normal result of switching region, not a risk signal.

Do the IP and the account's shipping address need to match?

It is advisable. Signed in, the platform sees both, and a lasting contradiction invites checks or prompts to switch region. Change both together.

Browsing works but checkout gets stuck. Why?

E-commerce risk controls concentrate on the transaction. Browsing is usually permissive; problems surface at payment, promotion redemption or a first order. Use this page to rule out the environment layer, then look at payment method and account details.

Is mobile data better than broadband?

Mobile addresses are usually classified as genuine user networks, which helps. But mobile pools are heavily shared and rotate often, so they are less stable than a fixed residential line. Both have trade-offs.

Does this check log my IP?

The lookup passes through our servers, so ordinary access logs are produced. We do not sell or share query records. Browser-side checks are computed locally and not uploaded.

Environment checks for other platforms

Each platform weighs things differently, so the same environment can come out very differently from one to the next. These are the other platforms we maintain a separate weight profile for.
