GEMINI

Gemini Access Check

Checks your exit IP against both official lists, the Gemini app and the Gemini API / AI Studio: is it supported, is it a VPN, proxy or datacenter exit, can Google's domains be reached, and is your real IP leaking.

Check your Gemini access environment

We check whether your exit IP's region can use the Gemini app (web) and the Gemini API / AI Studio, whether that IP is flagged as a VPN, proxy or datacenter, whether gemini.google.com, AI Studio and the API domain are reachable, and whether your real IP leaks through WebRTC or DNS. Takes about 5–10 seconds.

Gemini region and IP requirements at a glance

Whether Gemini works depends on which Gemini you mean: the Gemini app on the web is available in 242 countries and territories (Hong Kong, Macau and Myanmar included; mainland China for Workspace business accounts only), while the Gemini API and Google AI Studio are available in only 230, excluding Hong Kong, Macau, Myanmar and mainland China. Beyond region, whether your exit is a VPN, proxy or datacenter, and whether Google's domains are reachable, decide how often you hit verification.

  • The Gemini app (web) officially supports 242 countries and territories, with mainland China marked "Workspace only" (checked on 2026-10-21).
  • The Gemini API / AI Studio officially supports 230 countries and territories, excluding Hong Kong, Macau, Myanmar and mainland China.
  • Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba and Afghanistan are supported by neither the app nor the API.
  • For the API, the exit of the calling machine decides the region; in Colab, the Colab instance's region does.
  • Google isn't behind Cloudflare, so a web page can't read the IP Google sees; this page goes by the exit this site sees and tests reachability of gemini.google.com, AI Studio and the API domain.
  • The Gemini mobile app has its own availability list, which may differ from the web app.

Which countries and regions does Gemini support?

Official list

Based on Google's two official lists: the Gemini app (web) covers 242 countries and territories (mainland China for Workspace accounts only), and the Gemini API / AI Studio covers 230. Hong Kong, Macau and Myanmar get the app but not the API.

AfghanistanAFBelarusBYChinaCNCubaCUHong KongAppAPIIranIRNorth KoreaKPMyanmar (Burma)AppAPIMacaoAppAPIRussiaRUSyriaSY

Anything on neither list is unsupported, and the Gemini mobile app has its own list that may differ from the web. Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba and Afghanistan are on neither list. The official lists change; the official pages are authoritative.

How the score works

The score only covers what Google can see from this visit, out of 100, and region is judged by the Gemini app (web) list: an unsupported region is reported as "Unsupported region"; if gemini.google.com is unreachable the score is capped at 30; an unlisted territory caps it at 70. If the API / AI Studio isn't available it's listed as a separate risk without extra deductions. Everything else is weighted as below; unmeasured items are left out of the total, and below 85% coverage the verdict is never "Low risk".

DimensionWhat we checkWhy it mattersWeight
Exit network typeWhether the exit is home broadband, mobile, datacenter, VPN, proxy, Tor or WARPShared exits and anonymizing networks are the first thing risk systems look at30
Real IP exposureWhether the public address WebRTC reveals matches the exit Gemini seesA second exposed address shows the real location behind the proxy20
IP reputationAbuse reports and DNSBL blocklist entriesReputation follows the address; records left by previous users count against you too20
Exit consistencyWhether exits match across domains, IPv4 / IPv6 countries and location sourcesOne account hopping between IPs and countries is a classic account-security anomaly15
Time zone consistencyWhether the system time zone conflicts with the exit IP's time zoneTime zone is a location clue any page script can read without permission10
Automation & cookiesWhether the browser is automated and cookies workAutomation traits trigger Cloudflare-style CAPTCHAs directly5

The weights summarize risk signals common across the industry; they are not Google documentation. Google's CAPTCHAs ("Our systems have detected unusual traffic") lean heavily on address history, so IP reputation weighs 20 here, more than on the ChatGPT page; a datacenter exit earns 40% of "Exit network type".

Gemini region and usage policies behind this page

The Gemini app (web) has its own list

Google's help center lists 242 countries and territories where the Gemini web app is available, with mainland China marked "Workspace only"; Hong Kong, Macau and Myanmar are included. The mobile app's availability is published separately.

  • Beyond region there are account-type and age requirements; Google's help center is authoritative, and they can't be checked from outside.
  • This page matches our IP database's country against the list; Google uses its own location data, so individual IPs may differ.

The API and AI Studio follow a separate list

The Gemini API and Google AI Studio publish their own list of 230 countries and territories, which excludes Hong Kong, Macau, Myanmar and mainland China; users elsewhere are pointed to Google Cloud's enterprise offering.

  • For the API, the caller decides: the exit of the machine running your code counts, not where you are.
  • In Colab, the region of the Colab instance counts, not your location.

Shared exits and anonymizing networks trigger Google checks

Google hasn't published Gemini's risk rules. In industry practice, shared VPNs, proxy pools, Tor and datacenter exits readily trigger Google CAPTCHAs and sign-in verification, and an address's history matters a lot.

  • Exits shared by many users or with abuse records are the most likely to get "unusual traffic" notices.
  • IPv4 and IPv6 in different countries usually means the proxy only handles IPv4, while Google supports IPv6 everywhere.
  • This page's VPN / proxy / Tor, reputation and exit-consistency checks map to exactly these common signals.

The country tied to your account matters too

Your Google account has an associated country or region, and Google also considers account age, phone number and payment method. All of that lives inside Google and can't be seen from outside.

  • If your exit IP is supported but the country tied to your account isn't, some features may still be unavailable.
  • A clean environment only means the network layer has no obvious problem; it doesn't mean the account is in good standing.

Terms of service and policy violations

The Gemini API Additional Terms of Service and Google's usage policies list prohibited uses; violations can lead to restrictions or termination of access, regardless of your network.

  • This page only answers whether the network environment this visit exposes has problems.

Gemini region & IP FAQ

Can I use Gemini in Hong Kong or Macau?

It depends. The Gemini app on the web is now available in Hong Kong and Macau and works directly, but the Gemini API and Google AI Studio lists don't include them, so API calls and AI Studio are refused. This page's region card shows both verdicts.

Can I use Gemini in mainland China?

Not with a personal account. Google's Gemini web app list marks mainland China "Workspace only", i.e. business Workspace accounts only, and the Gemini API and AI Studio don't support mainland China. Google services also usually can't be reached directly from mainland China.

Gemini says it isn't available where I am. What now?

First check which country your exit IP is in and whether it's on the app list; then check whether the country associated with your Google account is supported. If both are fine and Gemini still says unavailable, Google probably locates the IP differently from us; try an exit that every location source agrees on.

Do the Gemini API and the web app have the same region requirements?

No. The web app list has 242 countries and territories and the API / AI Studio list only 230; the difference is mainly Hong Kong, Macau, Myanmar and some overseas territories. The API goes by the exit of the machine running your code, not where you are.

Can I call the Gemini API from a datacenter IP or cloud server?

Yes. Running the API on a cloud server is common, as long as the server's region is on the API list. For signing in to your Google account on the web, use home broadband or mobile data, as datacenter IPs get extra verification more often.

Why do I keep getting Google's "unusual traffic" CAPTCHA?

Usually because the exit IP is shared by many users or has abuse records; shared VPNs, proxy pools and datacenter IPs are the most common causes. Check the reputation and proxy flags in this page's "Exit IP profile" card; switching to a dedicated, clean exit usually helps a lot.

If the check says low risk, will my account definitely work?

Not necessarily. This page only checks the network and browser environment this visit exposes; the country associated with your Google account, its age, phone number and payment method all live inside Google and can't be seen from outside.

Does this check log my IP?

IP intelligence lookups go through our server and create ordinary access logs; we don't sell or share lookup records. Browser details such as time zone, language and automation flags are read locally on your device and never uploaded.
