First, identify which type of login failure you're facing
Don't rush to switch nodes when Claude login fails. Check where the page gets stuck first — different stages point to completely different problems:
Cloudflare verification loop
Spinning indefinitely, repeated human verification challenges, or returning to the same page after verification.
Check IP reputation, DNS/WebRTC leaks, browser extensions, and cookies first.
SMS verification code failure
Not receiving the SMS, number rejected, or a send-failed message.
Confirm the phone number is from a supported region and isn't VoIP, Google Voice, an app-generated number, or a landline.
OAuth callback stuck
The authorization page opens, but returning to Claude or Claude Code hangs indefinitely.
Check the local callback port, browser cookies, corporate firewall, proxy, and system time.
403 / account suspended
Page shows forbidden, account disabled, region unavailable, or unable to proceed.
Confirm your region is supported and the account status; if you believe this is a mistake, appeal through the official channel.
Recommended troubleshooting order
Confirm official service status
Check the Claude official status page and the CleanIP service status page first. If the official service is degraded, repeatedly refreshing locally only generates more failed requests.
If status is normal but the issue persists locally, continue diagnosing your local network.
Pin down one stable egress
Don't switch between multiple countries and ASNs within the same hour. Stick with one region, one browser profile, and one account while troubleshooting login.
Frequent switching makes the problem harder to pinpoint.
Check DNS / WebRTC / IPv6
Use leak detection to confirm your HTTP egress, browser IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and WebRTC aren't exposing different countries or networks.
Cloudflare loops and region anomalies often trace back to this.
Clear browser variables
Disable fingerprint-modifying extensions, ad blockers, script blockers, and privacy add-ons. If needed, test with a clean Chrome profile — don't delete your main browser data first.
Keep a recoverable path and avoid making the problem worse.
Check account compliance items
Confirm the account's creation/usage region, phone number ownership, age/identity verification requirements, and usage policy don't conflict.
If the account is suspended, a working local network doesn't mean the account recovers automatically.
SMS verification code failure
The official documentation requires a phone number from a supported region that can receive SMS. VoIP, Google Voice, app-generated numbers, landlines, or numbers unable to receive SMS are not accepted. If the code hasn't arrived after 5 minutes, the official guidance is to re-enter the number and try again; if it still fails, use a different working phone number.
403 / 429 / Suspended access
| Symptom | Common cause | Recommended action |
|---|---|---|
| 403 | Region, organization policy, account status, enterprise allowlist, or the request being rejected. | Confirm your region is supported and check account status first; enterprise accounts should contact an admin to verify the allowlist. |
| 429 | Too many requests, retries too close together, or rate limiting on the account's plan. | Stop retrying and wait before trying again; reduce concurrency for Claude Code scenarios. |
| Verification code loop | Anomalies in browser environment, cookies, extensions, IP reputation, or path consistency. | Pin down your egress, switch to a clean browser profile, and run leak detection. |
| Account suspended | Officially listed reasons include usage policy violations, account creation from an unsupported region, terms of service violations, and similar. | Gather account details and the timing of the issue, then use the official appeal channel. |
